APPLE WATCH: RESETTING YOUR APPLE WATCH’S PASSWORD

How to Hard Reset Apple Watch – Hold down the side button and Digital Crown at the same time. The Digital Crown is the rotating button located on the side of the device.

When setting up a passcode on the Apple Watch, choose one that you can easily remember.

Accidents, however, can happen to the best of us. Maybe you needed to change your regular password for security reasons, but you forgot to do so.

Perhaps you’re trying to boot it up for the first time in a long time and don’t remember how to do so.

The only way out of this situation is to reset your Apple Watch password, which you can do here…

Reset the Apple Watch

If you find yourself in this situation, you’ll almost certainly need to be able to reset the Apple Watch. This means you’ll lose all of the data on your watch.

The good news is that Apple will automatically create backups as you go through this procedure, so you won’t lose any data.

Reset Your Apple Watch Directly from the Watch:

  • Please wait while you connect your Apple Watch to its charging cable.
  • Press your side button until the power is turned off.
  • Keep the digital crown held down until you see the “erase all content and settings” button.
  • To confirm, click Reset.
  • After the process is finished, you can re-pair your Apple Watch.
  • Select the option to restore the backup during setup.

It’s possible to do this on your iPhone if you prefer. To reset your Apple Watch using your iPhone, follow these steps:

  • Launch Watch on your iPhone. Keep an eye on the app on your iPhone.
  • Select My Watch from the My Watch tab, then General.
  • Click the Reset button.
  • “Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings” should be selected.
  • confirm
  • Enter your Apple ID password here.
  • Consider whether you want to keep or cancel your cell phone plan if you use one.
  • After the process is finished, you can re-pair your Apple Watch.
  • During setup, select the “Restore backup” option.

Edit the passcode settings

It is not necessary to wait until there is an emergency to review your passcode settings. Perhaps you’d like to disable passcodes. (This is just a heads-up, but it will disable certain functions, such as Apple Pay.) You might want to change your password.

After having to reset the settings on your Apple Watch once, you might prefer not to have to do it again. Whatever the reason, here’s how to change your security settings.

Change your passcodes

  • Navigate to the Settings app.
  • Passcode should be selected.
  • Click the “Change Passcode” button.
  • Enter your current passcode here.
  • Enter your new passcode here.
  • To confirm, re-enter the new passcode.

On the iPhone:

  • Go to the Watch app in your device’s app drawer.
  • Navigate to the My Watch tab.
  • Navigate to the password and select Change Passcode.
  • On your Apple Watch, enter your new password.
  • To confirm, enter your new password once more.
  • Disable your passcodes.

On your wrists:

  • Follow the first two steps outlined above.
  • Turn Passcode Off is the option.
  • Your Apple Pay cards will be removed from your watch, according to the message displayed.
  • Click the “Turn Off” button.
  • On an iPhone:
  • Navigate to the Watch app.
  • Go to the My Watch section.
  • Scroll down until you find the passcode.
  • The steps that follow are the same as the ones that preceded them.

Other settings

Although these are the default passcode settings, there are others that can be toggled on and off. These options can be found in the same Passcode menu, which can be accessed via your wrist or the iPhone’s Watch app by following the steps outlined above.

Combining these settings is a great way to customize your experience, especially if you’re not a good planner or are concerned about someone gaining access to your personal information if you lose or damage your Apple Watch.

For example, if you have difficulty entering numbers on a small display, the Unlock using the iPhone setting is a great option. If enabled and worn in conjunction with an Apple Watch, this will unlock your watch each time you unlock your iPhone.

Perhaps you’d rather not enter seven digits when using the Apple Watch. By enabling a simple passcode, you will be able to use a four-digit passcode instead. Keep in mind that the longer the passcode, the more secure it is.

However, this can be an excellent option for making the process easier, especially when combined with the following security settings.

Consider enabling the wrist detection setting when using passcodes. It will detect that you do not have your wristband attached to your watch and will thus require a passcode to unlock.

This is a clever solution for keeping your data safe if your device is stolen. You can also enable the option to erase data. After ten unsuccessful passcode attempts, it will erase all data.

Winding-up

That’s how you reset the password on your Apple Watch.
